The SAGE cash transfer exercise was conducted in Mpigi district from12th to 22nd February, 2024 in all the nine Lower Local Government of Mpigi district.
Production & Marketing
Agricultural production is the major economic activity in Mpigi District. Over 70% of our community derive its livelihood from Agricultural production. National as well as local strategic objective for the agricultural sector is to achieve prosperity for all.
Natural Resources
The Department of Natural Resources in Mpigi District Local Government is dedicated to the effective management and conservation of the District's rich natural heritage, encompassing diverse ecosystems, forests, water bodies, and wildlife.

Planning
The Local Governments Act, CAP 243 devolves planning powers to Local Councils in their areas of jurisdiction. As per the Act, local governments Councils are mandated to establish Planning departments to support them as the supreme planning authority in streamlining development planning and budgeting according to Section 33(3) and Section 78, in accordance with the national planning authority guidelines.
